Notes:THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD ONLINE.
Please join us for our latest Talking About.
A cyclone may have resulted in your ancestor having a fearful journey to Australia. And if your ancestors settled in northern Australia, some cyclones have been disasters that blew away or washed away their homes, their sources of income, their places of worship, and sometimes their lives. If you had sea-faring ancestors, they may have suffered damage from gales to their ships more than once.
If you have a cyclone or hurricane story from your own experience or your family history research, we will be interested in hearing your story. While we are chatting we might discover some new resources for our research.
Social connection and learning will be promoted by a facilitator providing discussion opportunities for the participants, through prompts, conversation and chat messages.
In some instances there may be a list of resources and the 'chat' emailed to participants after the event. The event will not be recorded.
Note: This event is held in QLD time, AEST: no daylight saving. (GMT+10)
