Members are able to access FamilySearch Digital Images again from the QFHS Family History Research Centre computers.
You may be aware that if you search for Digital Images on FamilySearch from your home computer, you often see sets of records which have a camera icon, surmounted by a key. These images are often available to view at a Family History Affiliate Library, such as the QFHS Family History Research Centre.
This service has now been restored to our Library.
FamilySearch Digital Images are accessible on the FamilySearch website.
Look for a camera icon in the results. Depending on the agreement between FamilySearch and data providers you may be able to view images on your home computer. When that is not possible, you will see a message directing you to a Family History Centre or to an approved Affiliate Library.
Our Society is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library. At our Family History Research Centre you can access FamilySearch images on the QFHS computers.
Please note, it is possible that some images are only available at Family History Centres.
Over time, QFHS members have ordered almost 200 FamilySearch physical microfilms on an extended loan basis. These films are available from the film cabinet for all members to access. Check what is available here.
For more information you may like to access Lisa Louise Cook's interview with Diane Loosle, Director of Patron Services Division at FamilySearch.
If you scroll down to the transcript you can find a section about 'How to Request that a Microfilm be Digitized'.
