CHANGE OF PRESENTER...JANE WINIFRED OATEN

Janeth Deen OAM is unable to present her talk on Wednesday 19 November due to ill healthQFHS member Chris Schuetz will give a presentation in her place.

THIS EVENT WILL BE HYBRID, I.E. AT THE RESEARCH CENTRE AND BY ZOOM.

A Zoom link will be sent to registered attendees the night before the meeting.

Chris Schuetz has kindly stepped up with a new Presenting... topic, a story of a courageous Queenslander and a different mosque in Australia.

In 1892 little Winifred Oaten boarded a ship with her parents bound for Queensland.  Her mother could not face the voyage, but Winifred continued with her father to land that turned out to be infested with prickly pear.

After a bad first husband she married an Afghan camel driver who really cared for her, and ended up going to Mecca.
