LAUNCH OF THE FOUNDING FAMILIES CD AND BOOK
The release of the CD took place at 9.30am on Friday the 7 August at Newstead House.
Denver Beanland, the then President of the Royal Historical Society of Queensland, launched
the product for the Society. Unfortunately because of the restrictions imposed by the Trustees of Newstead House, attendance
was limited to those officially invited.
The CD has been programmed so that it is fully searchable and it will be possible to locate any of the 750 stories with a single click of the search icon.

The launch of Queensland Founding Families: Biographies of families living in Queensland prior to separation
from New South Wales as a book edition was on 12 December 2009.
This exciting new fully indexed book of the stories is available for sale by mail order or at the library.

This new publication was launched on 10 December 2009 (Proclamation Day) at the National
Archives of Australia by David Swift.

Computer training 2010.
Do you want to know how to make best use of the computer-based resources at the QFHS library?
Perhaps you would like more information on family history research using the internet? In 2010,
the Society will be holding two computer training courses for members to introduce the use of
computers in family history research. Each course comprises two sessions. One course will be held
in the first half of the year; this will be repeated in the second half of the year.
