QFHS Member Pedigree Records collection contains more than 44,000 names from the pedigrees of QFHS members. About 20% of our members have submitted pedigree information forming a valuable resource for other members to explore.
Perhaps this is an opportunity for you to find an unknown cousin lurking in the card index in the pedigree drawers. Others can find you only if you have submitted a pedigree.
You are invited to contribute a personal pedigree. This may be computer generated or hand written.
A pedigree chart is available here.
In the Cemetery Room, you will find some index cards located on the top of the filing cabinet. Please complete a card for each person in your pedigree as follows, including as much detail as possible:
QFHS Member No.
Surname, Given name/s
b. Date and place of birth
m. Date and place of marriage
d. Date and place of death
Once completed, give your pedigree and index cards to a Library Assistant.
We will process your pedigree and pedigree cards, and place the pedigree in the appropriate ring binder and the cards in the card drawers. We will transcribe the information into a surname index, available on all Library and Resource Centre computers.
Remember to check regularly for new entries. And remember too that you can update your pedigree information as your research progresses.
