This dataset includes 727 photographs covering all headstones and plaques present in September 2008 in the Mundubbera cemetery. The dataset includes an index to the names of the approximately 850 subjects of the memorial inscriptions. It allows searching on name, year of death, year of birth, and other details with QFHSdatasearch, with search results linked to the corresponding photographs for display.
The photographs show details of former residents and others associated with the district, with dates of death recorded on the monumental inscriptions ranging from 1911 to 2008. This dataset is a valuable resource for family history research in the area, especially as time and vandalism take their toll on the headstones. As well as confirming or showing possible errors in the burial register, the montumental inscriptions often show family relationships for 3 or 4 generations, including names of people not buried in the grave. Details can include parents, birth place and date, marriage information, titles, and honours.
