QFHS offers newer members the opportunity to have a QFHS Buddy. Buddies are experienced QFHS members who will assist newer members by meeting at an agreed time to provide one-on-one guidance, encouragement, and sharing of experience. The arrangement is available for between three and six months.

The Buddy program complements the existing new member services, such as New Members' Welcome and Orientation, Beginners Course, and Trout Game.
