Talking about ... Writing your family history--what are the options?

Presenter: Nancy Edwards

Talking about ... Writing your family history--what are the options?

The best way to preserve your family history is to write about it.

You could write a story for our journal; upload a document to Ancestry; a page on a website such as the Virtual War Memorial, My Primitive Methodists; an entry on Convict Records, Wikipedia and Wikitree; a media output (blog, podcast and YouTube); or a play for your grandchildren to act out.

Do you want to learn more about one of these avenues? Have you already used them? Can you suggest another avenue? Come along and share your experiences. This broad discussion of the avenues open to us and your interests may lead to further Education events. This topic was popular when we ran it in January 2023, so we are revisiting the topic.

Please note. A "Talking About" session is a discussion group where everyone is expected to contribute through sharing their knowledge and experience, through asking questions and/or giving opinions and answers. It is not a presentation. It is open to all levels of experience, no question is too silly to ask.

As these sessions have a limited number of tickets to ensure everyone gets their chance to participate in the discussion, if you are booked and realise you are now unable to attend, please advise us so we can reallocate your ticket to someone on the waitlist.

This event will be held at 3 pm Queensland, Australia time (AEST).
