Queensland Globe: get hands-on with Queensland geographyPresenter: Dr Kerry Raymond![]() Queensland Globe--So many possibilities. Queensland Globe is an interactive mapping website providing access to the spatial information held by the Queensland Government. It is a powerful tool with an extensive array of information that can be overlaid on the maps, but it can be overwhelming for the beginner. This hands-on session will be aimed at beginners including: navigating around the Globe, searching for locations by a range of methods, obtaining information about a particular place, and working with the hundreds of built-in data layers (some of which will be included in the presentation). Some of the limitations of the Qld Globe will also be discussed. Note that Queensland Globe primarily deals with current information rather than historical information. Read more about Queensland Globe. Please note: As this is a hands-on computer-based session, participants should be confident with basic computer skills, using keyboard and mouse, copying and pasting. Our presenter: Dr Kerry Raymond Note: This event is held in QLD time, AEST: no daylight saving. (GMT+10)
