Notes:
1 October 2016 marked a century since the Queensland Government took control of the major railway refreshment rooms on the railway system. In 1916, the Queensland Railway Refreshment Rooms came into being with J.J. Fallon being the Manager of the State RRR. At the time, the Railways operated 28 Railway Refreshment Rooms across the state, three buffet carriages, and 14 leased premises. The RRR also operated bathing facilities across the state as well, for weary, grimy passengers who had endured long times of travel with open windows, coal smoke, and soot for company on the way, at places such as Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.
