This service is available to members only. You may submit one short Look-up request on the
form provided on the Society’s website.
The research time for a Look-up request is limited to 20 minutes.
The Research Team Coordinator will advise if an Extended Research
is required. Requests will be answered in order of receipt.
Please provide as much information as you can, and, if applicable, those sources you have already consulted.
We suggest you use this service for specific enquiries in specific
indexes or record series—for example, finding a specific person in one
of the English censuses, or finding a specific person in one of
Queensland Commonwealth Electoral Rolls.
You may submit one Look-up request at a time. You may submit another
Look-up request when the current Look-up request is answered.
Extended Research Service
The Queensland Family History Society Inc. (QFHS) encourages family
historians to conduct their own research by visiting the Gaythorne
Library and Resource Centre. When this is not possible, QFHS offers
limited research assistance to members and non-members. A Research Team
will undertake the research at the Library and Resource Centre.

hour
and
to
non-members
at
$40.00
per
hour
- Members
of
QFHS
who
live
further
than
50
km
from
the
Brisbane
GPO
are
entitled to
two
(2)
hours
free
research
per
year
- The Research Team will provide the result of the search
undertaken including a list of the sources checked both
successfully and unsuccessfully
- Where
appropriate,
the
Research Team
may
suggest details of further avenues of research
- The
Research
Team
will
answer
all
enquiries
in
the
order
received;
turnaround
time
for
research
is
usually
3-4
weeks
- A
request
for
the
Extended Research
Service
should
be
made
by
post.
