An index to approximately 370,000
entries of Queensland Railway Employees published in
the Queensland Government Gazette from 1889 to 1940. The
CD includes three smaller indexes to other Railway
employee information, scanned images of all source pages
and scanned images of Railway Regulations and Acts from
the same period.
Highlights of the main index: Covers the entire career of
many railway employees; also gives the name, age (from
1899), position, branch/office, and railway/division for
each Queensland Railway employee at 30th day of June each
year. Also available in the Gazette source images: Rates
of pay and qualifications (where applicable). The minor
resources index Queensland Railway Appointments and
Removals 1890; Dismissals 1879, Ipswich and Rockhampton
Railway Workshops, and the Classification List for Loco
Enginemen, Firemen and Cleaners 1912. View images of the
Railway Acts and Regulations in Acrobat Reader (free and
downloadable) and piece together an overall picture of
employees’ lives.
This CD is an excellent resource for researching
Queensland railway families and railway history and
includes many records not previously published on
microfiche.

made easy using the popular searching and sorting
