HAPPY RESEARCHING at QFHS Inc.

QFHS Inc. has passed another milestone with the introduction of another subscription website to our computers.

Ancestry.com (Library Edition) is the latest addition and this gives our researchers access to millions of records in its databases. Ancestry.com may be accessed from any computer in the Library connected to the Internet. Members can also use their WiFi enabled laptop computers within the library.

Our researchers already have access to the databases of WorldVitalRecords.com and FindMyPast.com.au.

Happy Researching at our Library and Resource Centre at Gaythorne.

LDS Film Service is available at QFHS Inc.

Members and visitors to the QFHS Gaythorne Library and Resource Centre can take full advantage of LDS films to further their family tree research. Simply order through our society for viewing on our film reading machines. Records to assist your searches include Census, Parish Records, Bishops’ Transcripts, Cemeteries and lots more. Researchers who have visited the LDS family research centres in the past will be very familiar with the LDS and their vast resources.

The cost is $8.80 per film. The loan period is for 60 days.
A 60 day extension is available for $7.75.

New Members' Welcome and Orientation.

Not-So-New Members get Recycled... For several years QFHS has conducted "welcome" sessions for new Society members. The aim of these sessions has been to -

  • make new members feel more at home
  • help them find their way around our considerable collection of resources, and
  • identify important records by knowing, for example, how to access our catalogue on computer, what the GRD and the BIGR are, or why they should lodge their pedigree chart ASAP.

We invite EVERYONE to attend an orientation session, especially new members to the Society. This includes members who have never attended one, no matter when they joined, as well as members who have attended and wish to come again. Sessions last about three hours.

This is a FREE OFFER that you can't afford to miss!! Scheduled dates are -
