Formation

The Queensland Family History Society Incorporated (QFHS) was formed in Brisbane in 1979 as a non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political organisation.

Our Aims

  • to promote the study of family, and local history, genealogy, and heraldry, and

  • encourage the collection and preservation of records relating to the history of Queensland families.

Affiliations

  • the Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations Inc. (AFFHO)

  • the Royal Historical Society of Queensland (RHSQ)

  • History Queensland Inc. (HQ), and

  • the Federation of Family History Societies (UK) (FFHS).

  • Reciprocal library rights to non-Brisbane residents (conditions apply)
  • Visiting rights to members of Associate groups (conditions apply)
