sessions will be in a demonstration mode, as we do not have the

13. Convert an
Address to Latitude and Longitude
You can pinpoint any place on Earth using a single set of coordinates:
latitude and longitude. These coordinates look like a string of
numbers. Once you have those numbers, you'll be able to plug them into
a web map, GPS, or other mapping device and find what you're looking
for.
Using latitude and longitude information makes it easy to find your
ancestors' homestead, your own house, or any other location of
genealogical interest.
This simple site is easy to use and was made for this purpose. It
website asks for a "place name," such as a city, but you can type in a
post code, an airport code, or a full address.
Have fun at: http://www.GetLatLon.com/ Top of page
14. You Know You're
a Genealogist When...
- Some of your best friends live over 200 kilometres away.
- You have more pictures of tombstones than of the kids.
- "I need a little help at the courthouse" means forget the
cleaning, washing, dinner, chores; the day is shot.
- The mailman can't believe you get this much mail from someone you
don't know.
- You explain to Mum why you can't go 25 kilometres for Sunday
dinner, but can go 100 kilometres to check out another cemetery.
- You get home from a trip to an out-of-state courthouse with the
kids needing scrubbing, car needing fixing, and clothes needing washing
to find the housework, bills and lawnmower to greet you.
- Your neighbours think you're crazy, your friends wonder, and you
know you are.
- Despite it all, even you are a little anxious for the next family
reunion.
